His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam will attend the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, which will be held on 26th to 28th October 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Malaysia, as Chair of ASEAN this year, will preside over the Summits which will gather the Heads of State and Government of ASEAN and the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste as well as Dialogue Partners, to advance discussions on strengthening ASEAN Centrality by promoting strategic trust among countries; the push for greater commitment towards enhancing intra-ASEAN trade and investment; and ensuring the elements of inclusivity and sustainability are highlighted within regional Community-building efforts.

Earlier this year during the 46th ASEAN Summit, Leaders had adopted the Kuala Lumpur Declaration on ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future, charting the future direction of ASEAN over the next two decades in becoming a resilient, innovative, dynamic and people-centred Community by 2045, with a developed ASEAN as the epicentre of growth in the Indo-Pacific region. Another key outcome was the consensus among Leaders to admit the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste as the 11th member of ASEAN during the 47th ASEAN Summit. Under this year's Chairmanship theme of “Inclusivity and Sustainability", the shared progress for ASEAN is emphasised to ensure that no one is left behind, underscoring ASEAN's commitment towards strengthening regional peace, stability and prosperity within an inclusive, sustainable and future-oriented framework.
